Today as I am having my private time with Jesus, I couldn’t help but think how blessed I have been to be a mother. It has been the toughest job that I will ever love. I can remember feeling that my babies were on loan to me from God. That they were not mine but His. I was going to care for them and love them all of my life. I wouldn’t trade being a mother for anything. It has been one of the greatest blessings in my life.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3
I can remember the night that both of my children were born. To see them come into this world is a true miracle and the love that comes upon you the moment that you look at them and hold them close to your heart. It was something that I will always remember and that will leave me. I have always told my husband that God makes babies so adorable when they are little so that you can still find love for them when they become teenagers. Those were the hardest days. Teenage and early twenties. Once they passed that life was much sweeter. They are all grown up now and have blessed me with six beautiful grandchildren.
As I look back now I feel so very blessed to have them both in my life. They are wonderful people and the greatest gift God has ever given to me. It just went so fast. it seemed like just yesterday I was holding them in my arms and caring for them and loving them. Then they became adults and they both got married and started raising families of their own.
Though I have to say. Being a grandmother is so much more fun than being a parent. You get to have all of the fun without all of the headaches. When they come to visit I love my time with them but when they are gone home the house is quiet and very peaceful. I love to see the delight on their faces when you get to paint with them or let them help you to make playdough and put the color in it. To go swimming with them and watch all of their tricks. I love it when I can give them pizza and juice and goodies that only a grandmother can get away with giving them.
So on Mother’s Day this year my husband and sons are all going to cook for us Mother’s. We are going to have king crab, barbecued meat, shrimp kabobs with vegetables, oysters on the barbecue with a lemon and hot sauce, assorted raw fish, salad, and of course a great desert. I am looking forward to tomorrow and I am going to enjoy every bite of the food that they are going to so lovingly cook for us women. I want to wish two daughters Jeannie and Kellie a very Happy Mother’s Day!!! I love you both very much!!!
I hope that all of you mothers have a blessed and very Happy Mother’s Day!!! You all deserve it so very much!!! May God bless you all!!! Maranatha!!! 😀
